Hall Technique and ART

Hall Technique

The Hall Technique is a gentle way to treat cavities in baby molars by placing a pre-made, silver-colored stainless steel crown over the tooth. The crown seals the tooth to help stop the cavity from progressing and protects it until the baby tooth naturally falls out. Made from a biocompatible material, the crown is safe for children. Depending on the tooth, little to no drilling may be needed, and no needles or injections are required!

The Hall Technique is best suited for certain cavities that are relatively small and appropriate for this approach. It may be a great option for little ones who feel nervous about dental procedures or have difficulty tolerating traditional treatment. We’ll carefully evaluate your child’s tooth and help you decide if this gentle alternative is right for them!

ART

ART (Atraumatic Restorative Treatment) is a gentle, minimally invasive way to treat small cavities using small hand instruments to remove softened decay, followed by a tooth-colored filling material to help protect the tooth. This technique avoids the dental drill and often does not require numbing or injections, making it a great option for little ones who benefit from a more comfortable, less intimidating dental experience!
